Privacy Policy

Last updated on January 9, 2024

The Company places utmost importance on safeguarding your personal data and respecting your privacy. Herein, you will find information regarding the processing of personal data carried out by Pimento Bros in its capacity as the data controller, as well as the measures implemented in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1978 and European, French and UK regulations on data protection.

Personal data refers to any information enabling your direct or indirect identification.

The capitalized terms not defined in the Privacy Policy shall bear the same meaning as in the Terms of Service.

In essence, and in simpler terms than those elaborated below, we treat our users with the same care as the trust they bestow upon us.

Below, we outline how we put this principle into practice.

The Company may collect and process your personal data to enable you to use the services offered on this website and create an account on our site. Your data may also be transmitted for processing to companies within our group and other contracted subcontractors to provide customer support, monitor your transactions with Partners, process payments to Users, and for any other activities detailed in this Privacy Policy, the Terms of Use, and any other agreements Users may have entered into with us.

The Company will only collect data when it is necessary, appropriate, proportionate, and legitimate concerning the pursued objective. You will always be informed of data collections, and information essential for processing your request will be explicitly indicated. Data collection may occur, among other occasions:

  • Navigating on the wanteeed.com website.
  • Creating a user account.
  • Using Wanteeed Services (promo codes, Cashback).
  • Contacting customer service.
  • Subscribing to mailings.

Personal Data:

When you initially register on the Site or Extension, we request your first name and email address. Additionally, we generally record your IP address to determine your geographical location.

One service offered by the Company involves the possibility of collecting cashback during online purchases. This cashback is managed by technical intermediaries, with data handled discreetly and securely. The technical intermediaries collect minimal personally identifiable data during the process. To ensure user data remains under the Company's control, the technical intermediaries act under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as "Data Processors" on behalf of the Partners.

As Data Processors, they ensure data management in line with contracts signed between the parties. The data is used exclusively internally, and no data is shared with any third party not clearly identified in their list of subcontractors (who themselves ensure data management according to the contract signed with the technical intermediaries).

By using the cashback service, you can request a bank transfer if you have accrued a cashback amount of £20. We then request further personal data, such as your banking information, to process the transfer. This data is mandatory; we cannot process your registration, payment, or provide Wanteeed Services if you do not provide us with this data.

By registering for our service and in accordance with Art. L34-5 of the CPCE (Postal and Electronic Communications Code), we may send you newsletters, special offers, or any marketing communication exclusively proposing products and services similar to those provided by Wanteeed. You can withdraw your consent at any time, either by clicking the unsubscribe link in the email sent to you or by visiting the "my account / personal information / your communication preferences" page and unchecking the corresponding box.

Registration for Wanteeed Services and their usage are reserved for individuals capable of entering into a contract under French law. Children under 18 years old must be authorized by a parent or legal guardian to register to use the Wanteeed Service. Hence, we ask you to provide your age in the "My Account / Personal Information" section.

We will retain your personal data for as long as permitted, for legal, tax, regulatory, and fraud prevention purposes.

Statistical Data:

In addition to personal data, we also receive anonymized data for statistical purposes. This Statistical Data helps us understand how our Users utilize Wanteeed Services and how we can improve them. These data are collected and processed in specialized tools such as "Google Analytics" and "Indicative".

Google Analytics gathers information such as the frequency of visits to the Site or the number of pages viewed. Google Analytics only collects your IP address on the day of your visit, instead of your name or any other personal data. More information on how Google processes this information can be found in Google Analytics' Terms of Service.

Indicative is also used for statistical purposes for the Extension. The collected data include, for instance, visits to our partner sites or e-commerce transactions made to better understand the use of Wanteeed Services and improve them. When a User votes to add a new Partner store, this information is also stored in Indicative. The way data is processed by Indicative is detailed in Indicative’s Privacy and Data Security Policy.

Browser Extension:

If you agree to install our Browser Extension, the Internet address (URL) of each site you visit through the concerned browser ("Visited Site") will be collected and stored in the Company's computer systems: our systems determine and inform you whether the Visited Site is a Partner site and, if so, which Wanteeed Service is accessible. Information regarding Visited Sites is used to provide you with recommended Partner offers and to develop and improve the range of Partners and Partner offers we present to you.

This information may also be anonymized and stored in aggregated form (so that your identity and other personal data are not accessible) and be used as per the "Recipients of collected data" paragraph below. We only retain information related to Visited Sites for a limited duration.

Extension Update Checks:

Your browser occasionally checks for updates for all your extensions, including Wanteeed. Some general information—browser version, extension version, operating system, update date, and your IP address—is transmitted during an update check. Updates for the Extension for Safari and Firefox are managed by the Site, and the transmitted data fall under this privacy policy. Updates for the Extension for Chrome are managed by the Google Web Store website and are subject to Google's privacy policy.

When your web browser accesses a site like ours, cookies (a type of small text files) are automatically stored on your computer's hard drive, based on your browser's settings, by the Site as well as by third parties. The first time you arrive on a Site page, a banner informing you of the use of cookies and their purposes will appear.

Browsing without accepting cookies will be possible on the Site but will result in the inability to use Wanteeed Services.

What these cookies do:

  • They indicate the path (e.g., internet search or online advertising) you took to reach the Site.
  • They recommend offers based on your use of Wanteeed Services and the transactions you conduct through the Site.

If you have an Account:

Partners may place cookies on your device when you transact with them: these cookies are governed by the Partner's own rules. We are not responsible for the acts and omissions of Partners and other third parties (including their privacy and cookie usage policies).

We consider the cookies encountered on the Site either necessary for providing Wanteeed Services to Users or non-intrusive.

Transfer of data to third parties

How do you share your personal data with third parties?

As a User, you may sometimes need to provide your personal data to third-party companies working with us, particularly to Partners. This will occur each time you transact with a Partner, as well as in certain other situations.

Each Partner or other third party to whom you provide your personal data will apply its own privacy rules. As these Partners and other third parties are independent of the Company, we advise you to review their privacy policy terms to ensure they suit you.

How do we share your personal data with third parties?

The Company may disclose some of your data to its subcontractors or service providers to process your requests. Our subcontractors and service providers are obliged to respect the confidentiality and security of any data disclosed to them and to use it only within the scope of their subcontracting mission or service provision.

We do not disclose your personal data to third parties for advertising purposes. We may disclose identification numbers to third parties (such as affiliate platforms) for technical assistance and verification purposes in case of issues related to transaction tracking.

Furthermore, we aggregate and anonymize User personal data (so that your identity and other personal data are not accessible) and use them for internal management purposes, share them with Partners or potential partners, and use them to target offers we present to Users within the framework of Wanteeed Services.

Your personal data may be disclosed to third parties by us or by an entity processing your data on our behalf if the law requires it, if we receive a valid request from a jurisdiction, administration, or any other competent authorities (for example, in the context of search warrants or on the order of a judge), in any other case required by law, or to establish and exercise our rights or defend ourselves against third-party actions or any other legal proceedings.

Personal data concerning you may also be disclosed to third parties for other purposes, subject to obtaining your prior consent if necessary.

Transfer of data outside the EU

Transfers outside the European Union with the necessary level of security are planned to maintain the service level. The Company only deals with partners who meet the data protection guidelines established by the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union.

We are committed to protecting your personal data. Data security is paramount for the service's operation. Hence, the Company collaborates with reputable subcontractors, compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation. All data you provide us with is stored on secure servers, and access to our database is restricted internally. While no computer system can be entirely secure, we believe the measures we implement limit the likelihood of security issues to a level appropriate to the type of data concerned.

Access to your Account is protected by a password to preserve your privacy and security. We do our utmost to protect your personal data, but you, too, must protect yourself.

What does this mean?

  • Do not disclose your password or other access credentials to anyone for your Account.
  • Ensure that no one else uses Wanteeed Services when you are logged into your Account on your computer.
  • Make sure to log out of your Account when not in use.
  • Right of Access, Modification, Deletion, and Objection
